PHOENICIA. Byblos. Urimilk III, circa 365-350 BC. Shekel (Silver, 26 mm, 13.27 g, 3 h), circa 351-350. Three hoplites, helmeted and holding round shields, on galley to left above waves, prow ending in lion's head; below, hippocamp to left above murex shell; to right, above dorsal fin, 'K (in Phoenician). Rev. 'WRMLK MLK GBL ('Urimilk, king of Gebal' in Phoenician) Lion attacking bull to left. Betlyon 18 corr. (three not four hoplites). E&E-B Series IV.3.1, 775–814 (O2/R2). HGC 10, 136 ('Addirmilk'). Fresh and attractive. Struck somewhat off center and with minor doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
